Virtual International Internships

  • Arcadia

    Virtual Europe - Different Locations

    Enhance your fall or spring semester with a virtual internship in Athens, Edinburgh, London or Rome. An Arcadia Abroad Virtual Europe Internship provides you with international work experience and a four-credit internship course to add to your study at your home school.

    This innovative program will enable you to have a version of study abroad, joining an online community of students taught by Arcadia faculty overseas who are eager to bring you into the world of their course and of their location.

  • Authentica

    Virtual Experiences - Across Asia

    NOTE: Program is not eligible for transfer credit, student must secure an FIU internship class if they want credit

    Virtual Internship eXperience (VIX) is a uniquely designed program that enables your development as a global citizen and professional by placing you on projects with innovative enterprises in Asia. Work 15-40 hours per week for 4 to 8 weeks from anywhere. Projects that span a wide range of sectors and relate to business and UN Sustainable Development Goals. The internship includes a highly-interactive and experiential course (“Skills for Global Citizenship”), mentoring by experienced professionals, career development support and access to an exclusive alumni network.   • CEA

    Virtual Programs - Different Locations

    Ready to gain global experience while staying local this summer or fall? CEA’s virtual internship program includes an online academic seminar and a virtual internship placement.CEA offers a range of virtual internship abroad placements designed to suit your interests.   • Human Connections

    Mexico

    NOTE: Program is not eligible for transfer credit, student must secure an FIU internship class if they want credit

    Intern abroad from home. Through structured projects and virtual engagement with community members, interns will support our team in executing our COVID-19 Initiatives. These collaborations will bolster the resilience and ingenuity of our partners as they navigate a new global reality. One of our core values is reciprocity. To that end, we know that the learning you take away from your internship is just as important as the contributions you make. Time focused on projects will account for about 70% of your program; the remaining 30% will be invested in professional development and educational activities.

  • ISA

    Global Remote Internships - Different Locations

    The Global Remote Internship Program provides students with the unique opportunity to gain practical 21st century skills, industry, connections, and international business experience through project-based learning. Students will participate in either a group project, facilitated by a Professional Mentor, or an individual placement. In all cases, participants will work remotely from their own home and still gain valuable international experience.

  • Maximo Nivel

    As Maximo Nivel is a locally-based organization in Costa Rica, we have built strong relationships with many local partner organizations. These community connections mean we can help you explore your specific internship goals and interests in a very personalized way, and we pride ourselves in offering quality, custom placements in most fields of study.

  • One Collective

    Different Locations

    NOTE: Program is not eligible for transfer credit, student must secure an FIU internship class if they want credit

    Put your business, finance, sales & marketing skills to work helping social enterprise initiatives succeed in under-resourced communities around the world. One Collective, a faith-based global leader in holistic community transformation, has business start-ups needing business plans, financial projections, business development research and e-commerce strategies. Help create jobs and renew dignity while gaining international experience overcoming enterprise obstacles in difficult places.

    For semester programs, opportunities include 10 to 12-week virtual internships requiring 10 to 15 hours per week. Current openings exist for undergraduate juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher, as well as graduate students.

  • TEAN Abroad

    Global Remote Internship - Different Locations

    TEAN’s Global Remote Internship provides real-world, international work experience in a variety of fields plus university credit from the convenience of your home. We provide a 4- or 8-week internship that you complete individually or as part of a group. Experience working on a project from start to finish for a company located in Australia or Asia, learning about the unique challenges and flexibility that being part of a remote team provides.

  • Virtual Internships

    Call it what you will: Virtual Internship, Remote Internship, Online Internship, Tele-working, Telecommuting, it all means the same thing: students or graduates who undertake one of our programs are guaranteed a remote internship with one of our 4000+ host companies around the world. FIU students willl recieve a $300 USD discount! 

    Every internship will have tailored projects that meet specific career development and employability goals, with ongoing professional development support via a dedicated Intern Experience Manager, an Internship Coach, and CareerBridge our award-winning online internship curriculum.

  • Virtual Internship - CRCC Asia

    Different Locations

    Here at CRCC Asia we want to best support our students in creating alternative avenues to gain work experience, increase cross-cultural understanding, and maintain access to these opportunities despite major world events. It is for this reason we have created the Online International Internship program.

    We seek to maintain accessibility to global work experiences while supporting all students through structured programming, professional advising, and our guided online curriculum.

  • Virtual Internships - India and Nepal

    NOTE: Program is not eligible for transfer credit, student must secure an FIU internship class if they want credit

    Each of these internships have been carefully planned and will have a qualified Mentor who will interact with the student over the duration of the internship. On completion of the program and after assessment, the student will be given a “Certificate of Participation”, which will be of value when applying for further education or seeking employment. Though these internships do not have any transfer of credits, your Faculty Advisor may be able to suggest complementary courses at your own university that might give you the necessary credit hours.

  • USAC

    Different Locations

    USAC, a nonprofit organization since 1982, has provided students with life-changing opportunities to live and learn in countries around the globe. We have more than 50 affordable, authentic study abroad program in 26 countries, and strive to provide you with ample opportunities to become engaged, global citizens.

The following steps are ONLY for students who would like to transfer credit back to FIU. If you would like to do an internship for experience you do NOT have to do the following steps, simply apply to the internship.

  • Step 1 - With the internship provider

    Apply to the Internship of your choice by going on their website. Please take their Application Deadline into account.

  • Step 2 - With the Office of Education Abroad

If you are doing a virtual internship but NOT receiving transfer credit and instead enrolling in an FIU internship course, then you must do the International Internship Application. Go to the International Internship Section for more information.

Virtual TPPA

Some providers are offering a course for a short summer or semester long. You will be able to enroll in the program and have these credits transfer back to FIU. The great part is that all the work will be done virtually.

  • Arcadia

    Arcadia has been a leader in study abroad for over 75 years and in 2009, its existing Center for Education Abroad was elevated to College status, thereby creating The College of Global Studies. It is the first College of its kind dedicated to the delivery and development of education abroad.

  • CEA

    Gain an international perspective while fulfilling degree requirements by taking CEA online coursework. Not only will you stay on track for graduation, but you’ll gain a newfound confidence learning from faculty and peers around the world. Because our virtual courses are not tied to a geographical location, you’ll experience a variety of global learning opportunities while staying local. By enrolling in virtual courses with CEA, you become part of an online learning community that supports your academic success and encourages your development as a global citizen.

  • ISA

  • TEAN

    TEAN offers a variety of programs starting from 3-week summer programs to a full semester abroad.   • USAC (Online Global Perspectives)

    Our new Online Global Perspectives Program allows students to enroll in online courses taught by select USAC faculty based around the world. Since online courses are not limited by geography, your professors are likely to be based in different countries, allowing for a unique multicultural perspective.
